So, what happened to my Claude Code series?

I started off this year writing a lot, and wanted to keep up the pace. I did good at first! And then… I didn’t manage to.

In some ways, this is because I have just been super busy! I’ve never had less free time, and I’m okay with that. There’s a tremendous amount of good things going on in my life.

But it’s also put this whole Claude Code series in an awkward spot, because things have been changing so rapidly, that it’s been hard to keep up. And I also need to figure out what it is I actually want to say, and my practice has changed tremendously since January!

I’m thinking about this a lot today in part because one of the things that happened since we last talked about this stuff was the release of Claude Fable. And now, a new Fable has just been put out into the world, and OpenAI’s Astra is coming very soon. New models don’t always mean that practice inherently changes, but like, it’s just feeling like this is getting further and further behind, and so I think it’s probably good for me to just officially close this series. I still really like what I wrote, and think it’s still valuable today for getting started, but I just don’t think I can commit to keeping up with documenting everything I do at the pace that stuff is happening at. So being honest with myself about that is very useful.

To those that found this series helpful, I’m glad, and I’m sorry I’m not writing more about it. I’ll still write things about this topic in general, but the core idea of a “how to get started doing this stuff” series just isn’t in the cards for me right now.

AI is here to stay, and it is dramatically changing how people work. I believe that more strongly than ever. So stopping isn’t about me somehow getting bearish on this stuff. It’s just that I’m too darn busy for this specific project.

This is also why the “notes” section on my website still has zero entries. I was hoping that something to put stuff shorter form than a blog post would make it easier to write, but in the end, I can’t even find much time for that.

Okay well I’m having trouble wrapping this up so, I’ll just leave it here for now.
